Thank you Elisabeth!

All I can say is WOW! I recieved the socks that my sock pal, Elisabeth, knitted me today! Not only that, but she also sent me some Lana Grossa yarn, a beautiful card with a picture of Chicago, and some chocolate!!!

I could not have asked for a more beautiful pair of socks. I am simply amazed at how wonderful they are! They fit me perfectly and are a beautiful color, not to mention the perfect and intricate lace pattern which I am loving.

The color is more red than what it shows in this picture, and Elisabeth has more accurate pictures on her blog as well. Here is a closer shot of the lace pattern:

Thank you so much for my beautfil socks. I can certainly tell you put a lot of time and effort into making them special for me. You I definitely want to keep in touch and see more of the beautiful things you knit!

Sockapalooza socks complete!

My Sock Pal's socks are done! I hope she didn't read my blog randomly and think, "This girl never posts. I hope she's not my sockpal!" Well they are finished now and I have to say that I LOVE THESE SOCKS. The colors are so bright and happy, and I love the Monkey pattern from Knitty. I just hope they fit my pal.

Pattern: Monkey from Knitty by Cookie A.
Yarn: Regia Stretch, Edmonton Color
Start date: June 5th, 2007
End date: July 26th, 2007
Thoughts: This pattern is easy to make best of all, easy to remember. After a couple pattern repeats I didn't even need to look at the pattern! I love the yarn- I will definitely be ordering Regia again, most like from the Loopy Ewe, which is one of the best yarn stores I have ordered from. I hope my pal likes them!
And also, as a side note. I finished the 7th Harry Potter book and was certainly pleased with the way it all turned out. I don't have any other knitting projects immediately planned, but i'm sure i can't last too long without picking up my needles again!

Sorry to my sockpal...

Dear Sockpal, I'm sorry I haven't posted in over a month. I am currently juggling friend's weddings, visits to Kentucky, knitting, and a Harry-Potter induced mania which has kept me from updating my menial progress. So here it is: First of all, my Thermal is done!

I love it. It is the most well-fitted item i've ever made. If it were cold, I would wear it all the time, but it is 92 degrees right now.

Also, I ordred my yarn from The Loopy Ewe. GO THERE. It is amazing. Sherri's customer service rocks, and I got a free gift for ordering yarn for Sockapalooza. It is Regia Stretch- Edmonton Color. Just perfect for my sockpal.

I have started her socks, I'm about halfway done with the first one. I'm using the Monkey pattern from Knitty. They already look fantastic- I may have to make some for myself as well!!!

no batteries...

So my camera is dead and I don't have time to charge the batteries and take pictures of Thermal. But I do want to let anyone who reads this know that I am knitting it, and I'm almost done. I have a little bit left on the last sleeve and then just some seaming and blocking. I'm sooo excited, but I wish it was colder again so i could actually wear it.

In other news, I joined Sockapalooza 4! I am so ready to get my sock pal... I keep trying but it won't let me! The suspense is killing me. I can't wait to see who I will be knitting for! Sorry for the lack of pictures in this post.

Hope to hear from my secret sockpal soon!

Thermal action

The recent and sudden drop in temperature here in the Smoky Mountain Valley has inspired me to pick up Thermal after a long break. I finished the body, and cast on for the first sleeve. I'm not excited about this, because sleeves are my nemesis (nemeseses? nemesi?). So anyways, here is a picture of the tank top. And despite my husbands suggestions, we are not leaving it as a tank top.

No other news to post about, except that I am way excited about Alison's 4th sock exchange, Sockapalooza 4. I have been checking the website every day for the past month hoping for the sign ups to be open. I've never done a sock exchange so this should be a lot of fun.

Catching up...

Well, since blogger hasn't let me post pictures in a while, i think there is some catching up to do.

First of all, the Pomatomus socks are (and have been for about a month) complete.

Pattern: Pomatomus from Knitty, by Cookie A.

Yarn: Koigu KPPPM colorway p807.

Start date: 2/3/2007

Finish date: 2/28/2007

Thoughts: Genius. This pattern is GENIUS! I love it. It took me a little while to get used to reading the charts, but after that, they were relatively quick to make. My only complaint was with my yarn, which created a weird pooly-stripy thing. Next time (and i will make these again) I will use a solid yarn to show off the lacy pattern.

In Thermal news, I was able to take it from this:

The second picture here has the most accurate color. I really like this pattern so far and i'm not burnt out of the waffle stitch yet.

Sheep says its just over 9 inches... just a few more to go before I divide for the placket and shape the neck. I'm thrilled!

BLOGGER >:(

Blogger won't let me post pictures right now, but I promise I have been knitting! Pomatomus socks are done, and I have recieved my yarn from Knitpicks to start on thermal: Check the Thermal Knit a Long link to the left to see the progress. I guess thats all i have for now, I will post the pictures as soon as blogger stops acting like a loser.
